Self Esteem Challenge: Day twenty-five: Do you often compliment other people?

Yes, I frequently compliment people. I know that I like hearing compliments from people (even if I seem awkward and don’t accept them well), so I’m sure other people enjoy the same. Why not try to make someone happy?

Today is my Graduation from High School!

Pray for me please because I have to speak in front of thousands (a whole football stadium full) of people today and I shake really badly before I talk in front of twenty.

Self Esteem Challenge: Day twenty-four: What is your definition of “beautiful”?

Beautiful is a lot of different things.  It’s not just one definition, not just on thing. It’s a never ending, always changing definition.

Beautiful is the way that a baby laughs when she’s happy. She’s giggling and you can’t help but smile with her. You cant’ help but try to make her laugh more by playing peek-a-boo or making wierd faces or tickling her. Beautiful is seeing her little hand close over your thumb.

Beautiful is the cloud on a bright clear day when the sky is as blue as the ocean and there are just wisps of clouds in the sky. There’s a light wind, but not light enough to upset your hair or fly a kite. It’s just the right temperature for a picnic and you’re able and want to just sit outside all day and soak up the sun.

Beautiful is a peice of poetry or writing that touches your heart. You hear the verse or line and you can just connct with it suddenly. It’s not necessarily anything profound, but it can bring a smile to your face or tears to your eyes. It’s the way that you can understand exactly what the poet means without having to disect it with the whole class.

Beautiful is the way that a boy looks at a girl when he loves her but hasn’t told her yet. The way that he talks about her to his friends, the way that he tries to describe why he likes her, but always can’t come up with the words because how can a description of a girl ever do her justice? But when she walks into the room, he lights up and you can see all the love for her in his eyes.

Beautiful is the way that my grandparents take care of my family. It’s taking care of my little cousin on the week nights and always being there when his parents are going crazy again. It’s the way that they took my aunt back into their home when she had a huge accident that almost paralyzed her legs. It’s the way that they call out to my house at least once a week. It’s how they raised our whole family to be strong Catholics.

Beautiful is a girl who never realizes that she recieves attention from guys. She’s quiet and shy and wouldn’t realize a guy’s interest in her until someone told her. It’s the way that guys will look at her and she’ll never realize that they think she’s beautiful.

Beautiful is the way that a four year old will climb all over my lap and whisper secerets in my ear and then skip off to go play with water toys. She’s laughing an giggling and has no cares in the world other than getting as wet as possible. It’s the way that she looks up at me and laughs.

Beautiful is watching people pray durin Adoration and seeing tears stream down their faces as they look at our Lord. It’s the glow of complete adoration from the whole room and seeing them on their knees as they bow their heads in worship. It’s complete and total surrender to the King of Kings.

Beautiful is God’s love for us. It’s the way that we mess up over and over again and He’s always willing to forgive us and forget all of our mistakes. It’s the way that He lifts us up when we are down and carries us when we are weake. It’s the way that we are always loved by him.

And that is my definition of “beautiful” because without God’s love for us, everything else that I said above would fail to be beautiful. Love is beautiful; God’s love is for us is beautiful. His love is beauty.

Self Esteem Challenge: Day twenty-three: What physical feature do others seem to find most attractive about you?

ummm… I have no idea. My eyes, maybe? Or my hair? Probably one of those, but I really have no idea. Those are just the ones I like.

This is a public deceleration of my apology to my best friend, Kristina for being a sucky best friend.

I’m sorry.

I love you.

I haven’t been behaving acceptably and I realize that, so I’m out to fix it now.

I’m sorry.

I feel dumb.

I make a big deal out of things that don’t need to be made into a big deal. And I feel stupid for causing tiffs.

I love, love, love this song!

I love, love, love this song!
